Joe was hired by The Brooklyn Union Gas Company in 1978. Joe held various positions before he was promoted into the Sales and Marketing Area. In his first 5 years, Joe was a top boiler salesman. In 1987, Joe was promoted into Account Management. He was responsible for managing the relationships with Brooklyn Union’s largest customers. One of Joe’s many accomplishments was representing Brooklyn Union with The NYC Coal Conversion task force where all NYC schools eliminated the antiquated coal heating systems, replacing them with modern gas/oil systems. Joe also contributed in writing the Temperature Control guidelines that the company still uses today. In 2010, after 32 years, Joe retired from National Grid as the Director of Key Account Sales. However, Joe never stopped caring for the customer. He loves the customer interaction. Problem solving and sales are what inspires him.
In 2010, Joe accepted a position as Director of Sales at a Mechanical Contracting firm. He was responsible for many boiler and burner sales and developed numerous relationships with large real estate companies throughout the Tri-State area. Joe retired for the second time in July 2017. Shortly after that he realized that retirement was not for him. “How many times can I go to Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond?” In January 2018, Joe joined the Abilene/Phoenix team as a Customer Relationship Manager.
